The mission of ICA is to expand on the adage of teaching a man to fish.

Literally, we will be teaching young people a life skill that is useful and recreational. Figuratively, we teach them how to cope with life’s ups and downs by building a positive self-image.

As a young man, I promised myself that I would always advocate for those furthest from opportunity. ICA is the fulfillment of my life’s purpose. Through an array of character-building activities, ICA addresses students’ social-emotional needs in our natural environment.

My vision is to create a framework for community leaders who aspire to transform their hobbies into opportunities to develop resilience in our young people. The goal of ICA is to sew the seeds of self-awareness and perseverance through learning to fish.
